FEBRUARY
SOUTH SUMATRA SURF COACHING
After the resounding success of our first South Sumatra trip in January 2025, we’re returning to the region in 2026. Home to the ultra-consistent Mandiri beach (Indonesia’s best beach break) as well as a host of other reefs and points up and down the coast. February is traditionally known as ‘off-season’ for Indonesia, but it’s actually the best time of year for Mandiri Beach, with small to medium sized swells, favourable winds, and far fewer surfers in the area. If you want to push your surfing to the next level, this is one of the best places on earth to do it.
You will need to get to Bandar Lampung Airport in South Sumatra. We will take care of the rest.
Ultra-consistent, high-quality, barreling beach break, a literal stones throw from your bungalow. 1 hour north and south of the resort offers an incredible variety of lefts, rights, reefs & points.
Level 3 & 4 surfers only due to the power of the waves in this region.
THE RESORT
The Mandiri Beach Club will be our base for this trip and we cannot wait to return! Spacious bungalows with A/C and en-suite, incredible food, a concrete skate ramp and an infinity pool overlooking the surf. It really doesn’t get any better.

FEBRUARY – APRIL
SOUTHERN ATOLLS ON ASSIDHA
Ah, the Southern Atolls. One of our favourite surf regions on Earth. Yes, the domestic flight required is expensive, but is it worth it? Absolutely! You will need to arrive in Malé at least one day before the start of your trip as we will be on an early morning flight down to the region.
Your domestic flight is included in the price. (7’2 surfboard limit)
Remote, consistent and home to a collection of some of the best waves in the Maldives. The Southern Atolls is one of the last surfing frontiers and is at it’s best during the transitional months of February – April. Light winds and maximum swell exposure make for an incredible surfing playground.
Level 2/3 trips will run in February & early March due to higher likelihood for small swells and glassy conditions. Level 3/4 trips will run in late March & April for the best chance of scoring solid conditions.
THE BOAT
Air-conditioned & en-suite cabins, mouth-watering food and an incredible crew. Assidha provides the perfect base for our Southern Atolls adventures.
There are 4 private cabins and 2 shared cabins available – 8 guests total.

APRIL – SEPTEMBER
MALÉ & CENTRAL ATOLLS ON THEIA
As we roll into the peak surf season, we will be scouring the Malé and Central Atolls (and beyond) for the very best and least crowded waves we can find. This vast area is home to a huge variety of waves and is open to all swell angles for maximum consistency. These trips will start and finish at Malé Airport, so no domestic flight is required.
The Malé Atolls boasts incredible wave quality and convenience, whilst the Central Atolls is a playground of consistent and often uncrowded surf. The surf spots in the Central Atolls face nearly all points on the compass, meaning there is always something to surf regardless of swell or wind direction. Predominantly right-hand waves, with occasional world-class lefts.
THE BOAT
4 floors, spacious en-suite cabins with A/C, delicious gourmet meals and 2 support vessels. Our home for the peak surf season is one of the best and most comfortable boats in the Maldives.
Theia can comfortably accommodate 20 guests, but we are limiting these trips to 10 surfers and 2 non-surfers across 8 cabins, for the highest standards of comfort and coaching.
