I spent months (& months) watching, watching Renegade clips on YouTube, romancing with the idea of a coaching trip in Maldivian perfection. Eventually, I pulled the trigger and never looked back. Top to bottom, start to finish - our trip with Renegade was the bomb. Right from the outset, communication with Dale & Simon was effortless – friendly, fast and super helpful. From the moment we arrived until departure, the Renegade team were EPIC. Nic, Edam and Sam really made the trip…along with being absolutely stellar humans, their energy and enthusiasm over the 10-days was spot on. Our Rene-Guide, Sam (Cobra, Cobes, Cobalt) was awesome, keeping the vibe v relaxed but also super organised. Our local guide, Edam was the glue that kept our good-ship Theia on-track and on-point for the best possible surf options. The commitment to coaching and feedback from Coach Nic was next level. His feedback is technical yet encouraging, and his teaching style just clicks. I left our trip surfing better on my back-hand, feeling more confident, and more stoked than ever. The one thing that stuck with me from Nic’s coaching was his tutorial on the 3x Thieves of Joy…that clarity of mindset has been a game-changer with my surfing. Massive shoutout to the boat crew, too. We experienced a few technical challenges during our trip and the crew really dug in to ensure our experience wasn’t impacted. A Renegade review wouldn’t be complete without a nod to the Chef and kitchen crew…oh, we ate so good! Three squares a day and all were absolutely delicious. As a destination, the Maldives are insane; it really is as beautiful and idyllic as the images suggest. I can still hear the ring of that Theia deck-bell…must be time for a meal or, time to surf again. Let’s gooooooooooooo…I can’t wait to come back.Posted on Stefan KlumppTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Man, what a trip! I only got into surfing fairly late in life (in my 40) compared to most people. I figured some coaching would be helpful, but this trip with Renegade far exceeded my expectations. The boat, the food, the guides, the people, everything was amazing. The coaching and guiding were incredible, but what truly made it a 5/5 experience for me was the vibe, the mutual respect in the lineup, and how everyone helped each other catch waves.Posted on Andy JohnsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Renegade Surf Travel – The Best Surf Trip of My Life! Where do I even start? From the moment I booked with Renegade Surf Travel, everything just felt different, in the best possible way. Simon and Dale, the founders, have built something truly special here. You can feel the love, the passion, and the attention to detail in every single part of the experience. The Renegade team, Edam, Nic, and Hugo are absolute legends. Edam and Nic bring such a great energy onboard, always making sure everything runs smoothly while keeping the vibe super relaxed and fun. They’re just awesome humans to be around. And then there’s Hugo, the surf coach everyone wishes they had. His approach is unreal, so professional, tuned-in, and encouraging. He gives detailed, technical feedback that actually sticks, but does it in such a warm, non-judgmental way that you can’t help but improve. I came away from the trip surfing better, feeling more confident, and honestly more stoked on surfing than ever. (Compress!) The boat crew deserves a massive shout-out too. They’re awesome, friendly, kind, and insanely accommodating. I’m vegan, and every single meal was great, thoughtful, and delicious, I never wanted for more food, in fact I came away from the trip 5lbs heavier, which obviously was pure lean muscle!. They really went above and beyond. And of course, the Maldives… mind blown. The place is straight-up paradise. Crystal-clear water, empty lineups, perfect waves, and sunsets that look fake. It’s even epic when it's hammering down with rain. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and pinch yourself. What really sets Renegade apart though is how personal the whole thing feels. The booking process, the communication before the trip, the answers to every little question, all of it was handled quickly, kindly, and with so much care. It never once felt like a transaction, it felt like being welcomed into a family. From start to finish, the Renegade crew nailed it. It’s the kind of trip that stays with you for life — and I honestly can’t wait to go back. If you’re even considering it, stop overthinking and just book it. You won’t regret it for a second.Posted on Elliot WalkerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I joined Renegade on a Malé & Central Atolls in September. It was a phenomenal experience from the meet-and-greet to departure. We scored some amazing waves in conditions that ranged from double overhead barrelling waves to waist high peelers. The surf coaching was first-class. It was the first time I'd ever been coached and it really openend my eyes to potential improvements I can make to take my surfing to the next level. As a British surfer, it was a treat to surf in warm water, tackle reef breaks and experience the beauty of the Maldives. Everything was perfect - the waves, the boat, the food, the crew. It was a pleasure to spend 10 days with such as friendly and welcoming group. I really hope I can join another Renegade trip again in the future. For anyone thinking about joining one of these trips, go for it. You will not be disappointed!Posted on Thijs VroemenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had an amazing organised trip with Renegade. Great team, coaching, boat, food everything was super well organised and the people have been very kind and been taking care of everything. If you want tropical vibes, 10days on a boat with likeminded surffreaks, good vibes, good food and crystal clear waves this is definitely a recommendation. I will definitely book another trip with Renegade in the future!Posted on Ed MclachlanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Renegade is the best!! I love the service these guys provide, I have been on 3 trips with Renegade now and each time they manage to make the best calls to find uncrowded clean waves. The coaching is top notch, I have been amazed to see everyone improving there surfing right from day one. I really love the good positive vibes from all the crew and guests, and each time and end up finishing the trip having made a bunch of great new friends.Posted on Johnny HillTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Trip of a lifetime! The Renegade team was outstanding to work with. Super helpful with information and communication leading up to the trip and once on the boat they were great. Coaching from Nic was next level, learned a ton from him. Edam and Sam (Cobra) helped get us on the right spots at the right time and were really helpful with giving insights at each surf spot we pulled up to. I could go on and on about the trip, 5 stars all the way. The accommodations, the food, the scenery, the other gents on the boat, and the waves all were amazing. If you are thinking about taking this trip, DO IT! You will not regret it! I'll be back for another trip with Renegade for sure.Posted on Brian ColemanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is a truly world-class experience. If you are someone that is passionate about surfing and want to have an exotic surf experience, I could not recommend booking with Renegade enough. Most importantly, as it relates to surfing, you will score extremely fun waves that cater to your experience level where you will not have to think about anything other than surfing. Dale and the rest of the crew didn't an incredible job in terms of logistics - where to surf, what time of day to surf, etc. to minimize crowds. 65-70% of the days we surfed, our boat was the only boat at the spot for 3+ hours. On top of that, the footage / surf coaching absolutely blew me away in terms of the crew's attention detail and genuine desire to help people improve. Lastly, the accomodations (boat itself), boat crew, and food were all fantastic. If you are going to be surfing 3-6 hours a day for ten days, you want to be comfortable and well-nourished when you are not surfing and the entire Renegade crew makes sure of that. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back! I couldn’t help but join the Aug-25 trip on a level 3/4 trip and it was absolutely epic. I am sure I will be back at third time!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
