2024 TRIPS
MARCH
SOUTHERN ATOLLS ON CORDELIA
For March 2024, we are kicking off the season with 3x trips in the remote Southern Atolls. In 2023 we scored around 80% of sessions in the Southern Atolls completely alone, and progression was through the roof! You will need to arrive in Malé at least one day before the trip start date and depart one day after the trip end date. A short domestic flight is required and included in the price.
Remote and consistent with high spot density. The Southern Atolls is one of the last surfing frontiers and is at it’s best during the transitional months of February – April. Glassy conditions and maximum swell exposure make for an incredible surfing playground.
THE BOAT
Air-conditioned & ensuite cabins, mouth-watering food and a high speed dinghy with roof cover. Cordelia provides the perfect base for our Southern Atolls adventures.
There are 3 private cabins and 2 shared cabins available on each trip – 7 guests total.

MAY – SEPTEMBER
MALÉ & CENTRAL ATOLLS ON THEIA
As we roll into the peak surf season, we will be back in our usual hunting grounds – scouring the Malé and Central Atolls for the best and least crowded waves we can find. This vast area is home to a huge variety of waves and is open to all swell angles for maximum consistency. These trips will start and finish at Malé Airport, so no domestic flight is required.
The Malé Atolls boasts incredible wave quality and convenience, whilst the Central Atolls is our go-to for uncrowded, super consistent surf. Central Atolls surf spots face nearly all points on the compass, meaning there is always something to surf regardless of swell or wind direction. Predominantly right-hand waves, with occasional world-class lefts.
THE BOAT
We have gone all-out on this one! 4 floors, spacious en-suite cabins with A/C, delicious gourmet meals and 2 support vessels. Our home for the bulk of the season is one of the best and most comfortable boats in the Maldives.
Theia can comfortably accommodate 20 guests, but we are limiting these trips to 10 surfers and 2 non-surfers across 8 cabins, for the highest standards of comfort and coaching.

OCTOBER – NOVEMBER
SOUTH SUMATRA & MENTAWAIS, INDONESIA
With the Maldives surf season winding down, we’re heading across the Indian Ocean to its more swell exposed cousin, Indonesia. This time of year is considered ‘shoulder-season’ for Indonesia and typically sees more user-friendly swells and lighter crowds – certainly no bad thing! We are only running a couple of trips here this season, so spots are very limited.

- 1x 11 day boat-based coaching clinic in the Mentawais
Our South Sumatra trip will be focused around the sand-bottomed a-frames of Mandiri Beach (top), but there are a handful of other incredible and playful waves in the area.
Our Mentawais trip will be focused on finding uncrowded waves at some of the most incredible set-ups on earth on board Star Koat 2 (bottom). Think fun-sized surf at lesser known spots, as opposed to chasing the very biggest and best surf at the ‘pin-up’ spots.
We have carefully selected the time of year for both of these trips for the best chance of user-friendly conditions with less crowds.
Both trips are aimed at intermediate surfers and above, who want to improve their surfing and learn how to get tubed. You need to be competent in a range of conditions, but by no means a ripper!
